Running the Race – #39
Philippians 4:10-11 – But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.

Content. With all the things that are going on around us, how many of us can truly say that we are content. Paul, as he is writing this from prison, speaks these words and indicates that he has learned to be content.
It’s interesting that the word he uses is “learned.” He didn’t just automatically know how to be content. It wasn’t a natural instinct for him to be content in every circumstance. But it says that he learned to be content in every circumstance.
Are we seeking to be content in our lives? Are we actively learning to be content. What do those lessons look like for us? If we don’t know how to do something, we have to be taught. Being content is the same way. Have we learned to be content today?
