Change of Plans, Day 8

Do our plans match God’s plans? Read Hosea chapter 8.
I am a planner. I am really good at figuring out how to get objectives accomplished and making sure that we meet deadlines. I love a good plan. My plans often have backup plans. And occasionally, my backup plans have backup plans. I can get carried away with the details and the logistics of making sure that something gets done. However, the bigger question is how do my plans get determined?
As we have been reading about all the changes of plans that God has done in this book, we can see that so often, God has had to make an adjustment to our plans. Here in this chapter, we see that the people have done a great job making plans, however, they haven’t really checking in with God or sought his plans. They just moved forward with their own plans, even though they were moving forward without God.
Does that describe us? Are we in the mindset that we will just make plans and get stuff accomplished, without giving thought to what God might be wanting to do in and through a situation? We must recognize that our very best plans are trash compared to the plans that God has. And, we need to recognize that God will often destroy our plans in order to move forward with his own plans anyway. Are we coming to God first and seeking His plans? How are we living out His plan for our lives each day?
