Joshua, Day 8

How do leaders respond to success? Read Joshua chapter 8.

As a leader, the way we respond to success is just as important as the way we respond to the failure. Joshua had experienced both recently and led the Israelites through it. For this, we see a tremendous success as the people soundly defeated their enemy.

How did Joshua respond? He reminded the people what led to their success. He kept them grounded in in the fundamentals and basics of the foundation that they were walking on. He brought them back to the Lord and to all of the Lord had done for them.

When we experience success, to what do we attribute that success? How do we celebrate our success? We should continue to celebrate and enjoy our successes, but we must help our team remember the foundation and fundamentals that led to that success. Keeping the right perspective is a fundamental part of a leader’s responsibility to the team throughout both the failures and successes.
