Leading Through Challenging Circumstances, Day 62

Persecution. Read Daniel 11:33-35.

The Christian life is not an easy life. Over the years, I have heard many people witnessing and sharing with others about the Christian life. It always makes me sad when people who are sharing give someone the impression that all you have to do is come to Jesus, and then all your worries and troubles and problems magically go away. That is not how the Christian life works at all. If anything, coming to Christ means you have more troubles and problems and difficulties.

However, having Christ means that we have a purpose that transcends anything else that we could have, and we have a God who walks with us through the challenges and the difficulties. As Daniel is receiving this prophecy, he understood that the people were not going to have an easy time of things during all of this leadership chaos. There was going to be direct persecution of those who follow and believe in Christ.

Following and believing in Christ is not going to make things easy as believers. In Christ, we have to understand that there is no greater joy than following Christ, but there is also no greater challenge than following Christ. Are we walking with Christ amidst the challenges we face today?
