Go home. Joseph had to reevaluate where home was this census. As a result, he had to take a trip back to the area his family was from, Bethlehem. Read Luke 2:4-5.
Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child.

Joseph had to travel. Because of who he was related to, he had to go back to where the family was from. How often have we strayed away from our roots and where we are from? When we are followers of Christ, we have a home in Christ. However, if we’re not careful, life will take us on many different paths that may lead us further and further away from where that home is.
When was the last time we looked around us and evaluated whether we were still truly at home in Christ? Are we living each day firmly planted in the center of God’s will for our lives or do we need to pack up and head home?
