Read Job chapter 28

VERSE:

Job 28:28–And he said to the human race, “The fear of the Lord–that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.”

TRUTH:

As Job continues, Job goes through and lists many of the attributes of God, and he comes this this statement about wisdom. Have we ever considered ourselves wise? Do we realize that only through God do we have any knowledge or wisdom? When we take the time to recognize that wisdom only comes through God, then we have a much easier time shunning everything else and turning away from it. If we sill understand that only through God’s wisdom will we have a hope of being more. Are we resting in God and relying on His wisdom?

RESPONSE:

Father, I try to get my own wisdom at times, but those decisions end up being a disaster. I pray that You will help me to shun evil and to listen only to Your wisdom in my life.
