The birth announcement. In today’s day and time, birth announcement are huge affairs, often complete with gender reveal parties or baby name reveal parties. No such thing existed for the birth of Jesus. Read Luke 2:7.
And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Jesus came. The savior of the universe, the God who created everything, and there was no fanfare. Mary gave birth to him. She couldn’t even find a hotel room or home to stay in, but instead was in a barn.
Do we make a big deal out of things that should be a big deal? Or are we busy making a big deal out of the little things that don’t matter in our lives? This was a big deal, yet it didn’t have to be accompanied with flashing lights. God knew how big of a deal it was and he would invite all the right people to be part of it.
Are we focusing on the importance of an event from our perspective or from God’s? When we mean to make a big announcement, are we making it in a way that God would consider making big announcement or are we doing it to impress people here on Earth? Keep focused on what God considers important today.
