Christian Devotional – December 16, 2017

Why are you here? There seem to be so many people who are confused about why they are here or what their purpose is. Jesus was not. Reading through Luke 5:12-39, see what He says,

And Jesus answered and said to them, ” It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”

Jesus knew exactly why He was here. Everything He did was to bring people to God. Jesus later states that as the Father has sent Him, He also sends us (John 17). We have the same purpose as Jesus. We don’t need to wonder about our purpose. We may change the method by which we do things, but we don’t change the message. Are we calling sinners to repentance?
