Joy because of who God is and the fact of his ruling. Read Psalm 146:6-11.

God is the ruler of all things and He is the overall authority. Because of that fact, we can have joy. Our joy is in the character of who God is and all that he does for us. Without him, we wouldn’t understand what joy is. Do we know God and understand him? Do we find joy in all that he does?
