Read Job chapter 38

VERSE:

Job 38:3–Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.

TRUTH:

God responds. After all the debate and the questions and the back and forth between Job and his friends, God finally steps in and has His say. God starts out by saying, in essence, “You think you know so much. Fine. I’ve got some questions for you.” There have been many times when I have gone to God thinking that I had everything all figured out and if God would just listen to me, then everything would be great. God has had to have this same conversation with me. We get so blinded by our own self-worth and evaluation of our own self-importance. We start to think that God has to run plans by us first. When we stop and truly come face to face with who God is, we realize that our plans are so infantile and short-sighted as to be laughable. God is God. Thankfully, God will start by questioning us, so that we can come to that conclusion. Will we see God for who He truly is and see ourselves for where we truly are?

RESPONSE: Father, I need You. My plans are nothing and fade quickly when compared to You far-reaching design. You help me to see that on a daily basis. I will trust in You completely because You are worthy of trust.
