Avoiding the Rollercoaster, Day 13

It’s ok to ask for a repeat of instructions. Read Judges chapter 13.

A couple who has never had any children receives an interesting visitor. This angel comes to the wife only and tells her that she will have a child and that she is to care for him in a specific way. She goes home and tells her husband who immediately wants to hear the instructions for himself. I find it interesting that even though he didn’t have to, God was willing to send the angel back and repeat the instructions again. He didn’t tell them anything more than what he’d already told the wife, but God understood the need for people to hear for themselves.

God is okay with our asking questions. When we’re in the midst of the ups and downs, it may not always feel like it, but God really does understand that we have questions and that we want to know more. He won’t always answer our questions, but he always works to reassure us that he has the answers. Even though the angel didn’t tell them anything more the second time, he came than he did the first time, he still was willing to come and reassure them that God was in control, and that God was over this situation.

Are we willing to trust God? Are we willing to ask God questions when we want to understand more? How can we focus on him more today?
