The Essential Jesus, Day 58

God provides our needs. As we look today at the day 58 of the Essential Jesus reading plan on YouVersion.com, we are in Matthew 14:13-21.

God provides for us. In this situation, we see how God takes a difficult situation and provides all that these people needed in this situation. As we look at all that is going on in the world today, with situation with Russia and Ukraine, we see all the ways in which God can work and move. All of those who are fleeing and have taken nothing with them, God is the provider. As we think about the Ukrainian military that are standing their ground, God is the provider. As we think about those protesting and standing up for freedom, God is the provider.

The world is sinful and only Jesus is the answer to that, but what an amazing answer he is! God provided in this situation in a way that was miraculous and amazing. It was a way that no one expected. It was something that no one would have planned. This is true in our day to day as well. God wants to move in amazing and phenomenal ways, but we have to realize and allow God to work in and through us.

Are we looking for God to do amazing things? Are we praying and expecting all that God wants to do? God can move and intervene in this horrific situation in Ukraine and it is my prayer that He is will do just that, in a way that glorifies Him and brings people to acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord of their life.
