Christian Devotional – January 21, 2015

Read Psalm chapter 21

VERSE:

Psalm 21:7–For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken.

TRUTH:

This is such an unusual statement. Usually kings, especially during this time, considered themselves gods. The idea that a king would trust in God and His love (not His power or His justice) is an extremely unique idea. Do we hold to and cling to God’s love? That is what sustained David and it is enough to sustain us, too. The Lord will not be shaken and by His love, we won’t be either.

RESPONSE:

Father, Your love sustains me and because of it, I am not shaken. I will rest securely, knowing that You, and You alone, are all I need. Thank You for all You bestow on me, Your servant.
