The Essential Jesus, Day 24

Humility and leadership. As we read through day 24 of The Essential Jesus reading plan on YouVersion.com, we see the importance of humility in our Lord. Jesus was humble. He was a leader and ruler and yet he was the most humble.

If we had the opportunity to be in a leadership and ruler position, how would we respond? Would we want people to bow before us or to give us accolades? Do we understand when God talks about being humble, it refers to voluntarily giving up the credit due. Jesus was humble and even though he was absolutely due the accolades and focus, he was always pointing people to God and not himself.

Do we point people to God or are we wanting people to look at us? Our humility points people to God.
