Before the Gap – #10
There is a difference. As Malachi is finishing this chapter, he calls out the fact that there is a difference between the righteous and the unrighteous. There is a difference between those who are seeking to follow God and who are not. Read Malachi 3:16-18.
Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who esteem His name. “They will be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.” So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.

God knows who belongs to him who does not. There is no fooling God or tricking God into thinking that we are righteous when we really aren’t. The real key is understanding that the path to righteousness is actually through God himself. God knows that we can not be righteous on our own, so he made a way for us to become righteous through him. Have we surrendered our lives to Jesus Christ and are we seeking righteousness, his righteousness, through our relationship with God?
