Christian Devotional – July 12, 2016

Read 1 Peter chapter 1

VERSE:

1 Peter 1:15-16–But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

TRUTH:

Be holy. Peter makes it sound so simple, yet this is one of the most difficult commands in the Bible. We are imperfect people who are charged with holiness. How is this even possible? We must surrender ourselves to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and allow Him to work and move through us so that He can be Holy through. He is the One who is Holy and if we desire to be holy like Him, we must allow Him to do it. Are we submitting to Jesus Christ each moment of every day so that He can live His holiness though us?

RESPONSE:

Father, I need Your holiness, for on my own, I am nothing. I know that You desire to live through me and I desire to get out of the way so You can do that. Help me to surrender every area of my life anew to You today. Take my life and do with it whatever You will so that You can display Your holiness to others.
