Read 1 Kings chapter 3
VERSE:
1 Kings 3:7–“Now, Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties.”
TRUTH:
Humility. This trait is so often missing in our world today. Solomon had been given a lot of responsibility and he knew it. Instead of becoming arrogant and prideful about the fact that he had been made king, he came to the Lord in humility, admitting that he didn’t know what he was doing. Are we willing to admit when we don’t know what we are doing? Will we recognize and humbly admit the areas where we lack. Only when we admit what we don’t know can we get on our way to learning it. If we think we already know everything then there’s no reason to learn anything more. Will we display humility today?
RESPONSE:
Father, I don’t know everything. In fact, there are more things that I don’t know than things I do know. I desperately need Your help and guidance on what to do in various situations in my life. I know that You know everything and I am so thankful that You are willing to teach and guide me. Give me Your wisdom today.
