Christian Devotional – June 19, 2014

Read 1 John chapter 3

VERSE:

1 John 3:1–See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

TRUTH:

We are so privileged to be called the children of God and that is through the great love that God has for us. He made a way for us to come to him that the world does not understand. They don’t know or respect us because they don’t know or respect God. As we reflect God, they will turn away from us also. Are we living in the lavish love of our Father or are we choosing the love of the world? We cannot have both.

RESPONSE:

Father, Your love is all I want. You have called me Your child and I can’t believe or explain who other than the fact that You love me. I will seek after and follow You and Your love for me, not the world’s love.
