Why I Believe in Christ, Day 7

What we want to do and what we actually do are often not the same thing. Read Romans chapter 7.

Paul has explained that we are all sinful and that we need Christ’s perfect sacrifice in order to be made right with God. In chapter 7, Paul goes even deeper to explain that we really can’t do anything good on our own. We have the best of intentions, and we may even want to do the right thing. We often want to be better. However, the sin nature in all of us is so strong that we simply do not do what we want to do. We are not able to be good on our own.

Even after we accept Christ as our Savior, we have to understand that the way we live the Christian life is by allowing Christ to live through us. We simply are not good enough and cannot be good on our own. If we try harder, we will continue to fail harder.

Are we truly understanding of just how sinful we are? Do we seek Christ in every area of our life? He is the only way we can do anything good.
