VERSE:
Psalm 137:5–If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill.
TRUTH:
This chapter, written while the Israelites were in exile in Babylon, is a reminder of how very important Jerusalem was to them. The idea for us, is that Jerusalem represented the place of God’s presence in their lives. We are to remember and rest in God’s presence and His peace. We must continue to see Him at work in our lives every day. If we forget that, then we might as well forget everything else that we have known, for nothing else matters outside of our relationship with God.
RESPONSE:
Father, I praise You and lift You up. I know that You are the One who is the source of all that I am able to do and without You I know nothing. I will remember Your presence in my life today and I will abide in it. Thank You for being steadfast in my life.
