Philippians 2:19-20 – But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be encouraged when I learn of your condition. For I have no one else of kindred spirit who will genuinely be concerned for your welfare.

Paul wanting to send to the best. He was in prison and even through it all was thinking about the people of Philipi. He wanted them to have the encouragement that they needed to continue following Christ. He wanted to send Timothy to them. Timothy was Paul’s most faithful and diligent follower and he says so in verse 20. He mentions he has no one else that is of the same kindred spirit to send to them.
Do we surround ourselves with others who are of the same kindred spirit? As a believer, it is so important that we surround ourselves with other believers and the fellowship and encouragement that we can have when we are together with them. Paul, despite his circumstances and difficulties that he was experiencing, still had Timothy. He utilized Timothy to be his hands and feet to go places where Paul could not go. Do we have that kindred spirit? Do we have people who are like-minded that we can receive encouragement from?
