The Weeping Prophet, Day 7

They are creating their own problems. Read Jeremiah chapter 7.

Reading through this list of all the things that people have continued to do wrong, we see how God is explaining to them the impact of their sin. When we disobey God, we don’t do that in a vacuum. Our obedience to God matters. As God explained Jeremiah, when the people were disobedient, they weren’t harming God, they were actually harming themselves.

Our disobedience, while sad to God, actually does more harm to us. God gives us his word. His demands are for our benefit and his glory. Are we glorifing God by what we do, or are we harming ourselves by our disobedience today?
