Christian Devotional – October 13, 2019

When we see others going through trials, how do we respond? Unfortunately, Edom didn’t have a great response. Read Obadiah 1:12.

“Do not gloat over your brother’s day, The day of his misfortune. And do not rejoice over the sons of Judah In the day of their destruction; Yes, do not boast In the day of their distress.

The people of Edom had gloated and rejoiced when others around them had fallen. They rejoiced when their brothers in Jerusalem had been defeated. Now that is being held against them.

How do we respond when we see others going through struggles and problems? Do we gloat over the falls that others experience or do we seek to see others repent and return to the Lord? Don’t be like Edom.
