Christian Devotional – October 17, 2013
VERSE:
Exodus 37:2–He overlaid it with pure gold, both inside and out, and made a gold molding around it.
TRUTH:
The ark was made of such beauty and extravagance and yet, so few people were every going to see it. Still, that didn’t change the fact that the people were to do their best and most beautiful work for it using the costliest materials they had. When we are doing our work, whatever it might be, are we doing our very best work regardless of who will see it? Are we working as if we are presenting an offering to the Lord and as if the product of our time and effort is for His pleasure and review alone? Regardless of who sees or doesn’t see what we do, we are to do the very best that we can do in everything that God gives us to do.
RESPONSE:
Father, I don’t know whether my work will be seen by millions or just by You, but I will do the very best I can in everything You give me to do as a praise to You. You are worthy of the best that I have and I will not be distracted by wondering who else will be able to see whatever I am doing.
