The Weeping Prophet, Day 5

Do we love lies? Read Jeremiah chapter 5.

As God continues to share with the people about their sin, one constant theme through this chapter is the fact that they don’t love the truth. The poeople love their lies. They love their current situation and they want to be lied to that what they are doing is working and working well. They want to believe that God is in control, but in fact, they are holding on to the control themselves. They are dictating to God what should be considered right and wrong.

What do we do? Do we accept what God tells us is right and wrong, or do we attempt to redefine that for him? Do we only want to hear about the good things or only be focused on what we rhink we are doing right? God’s word gives us the definition of what would be right and wrong. We cannot change those definitions and we are to remain focused on all that God says, being willing to change and adjust as needed.

Will we focus on following Him and Him alone?
