Read Romans chapter 7

VERSE:

Romans 7:19–For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do–this I keep on doing.

TRUTH:

This struggle is so real and so daily for each and every one of us. As believers in Jesus Christ, we want to be obedient and do what He’s asked, but each day, we are tempted to do things that are not obedient to Jesus. Each day we must surrender our own selfish desires or else we will find ourselves tempted to go back to doing the evil that we used to do. Each moment of each day we have to die to ourselves and our sinful desires. Only through our surrender to Jesus Christ and allowing Him to live through us will we be able to live the life that God requires of us.

RESPONSE:

Father, I feel the same as Paul and there are so many things that I don’t want to do, but yet that I end up doing. Forgive me! Keep me focused on You and help me to die daily to my own desires so that You can live through me.
