Devotional – April 2, 2012

VERSE:
1 John 2:5–but whoever keeps His word in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him.

TRUTH:
Many people see the Christian life as a list of rules to be followed. It’s not. We become Christians based upon our personal belief in Jesus Christ, nothing else. Once Jesus has our life and we’ve given ourselves to Him, we follow His commandments. We follow them, not because we think they earn us anything, not because we’re trying to prove anything, but because we love Him and want to do what pleases Him simply because we love Him and want to show Him.

RESPONSE:
Lord, today I want to show You I love You more than yesterday. I want my actions and thoughts today to be a love song just from me to You.
