Read 1 John chapter 3 VERSE: 1 John 3:23–And this is his command, to believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. TRUTH: What does God command us to do? In the previous verse, it states that we keep his commands and do what pleases Him. Here, He tells us exactly what that is. We are to believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and we are to love each other. Are we following His commands? Would these two ideas describe our whole life? Read 1 John chapter 2 VERSE: 1 John 2:7–Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command but an old one, which you have had since the beginning. This old command is the message you have heard. TRUTH: They needed to be reminded of what they already knew. God had commanded them to love others, this was not new. However, they needed a reminder and a refresher.
