VERSE: Acts 11:17–“So if God gave them the same gift He gave to us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?” TRUTH: Peter had gone and shared with the Gentiles, and now some of the Jews were upset. When they criticized Peter, he simply gave a recounting of what happened and then ended with this statement, “If God wants to do something, who am I to think I could stand in God’s way.” We are to have the same idea about the plans God has for us. When God wants to do something, regardless of the criticism of…

VERSE: Acts 9:16–I will show him how much he must suffer for my name. TRUTH: Jesus has appeared to Saul and Saul has been miraculously transformed from being a destroyer of Christians to a believer on Christ. However, he has been left blind by the encounter. God comes to Ananias and tells him to go to Saul and pray for him. When Ananias hesitates, God reveals this information about His plans for Saul. VERSE: Acts 6:7–So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith. TRUTH: When does God’s word and message spread forth to others? Often it is very similar to the situation in this chapter. A crisis arises. Believers pray and come together. They enact a solution that God gives them through their obedience. God blesses and causes His name to be glorified and others to be drawn to Him. Are we experiencing crisis? God desires to use that to draw people to Himself. Are we seeking Him and His solution so that He will be blessed…

VERSE: 2 Chronicles 29:3–In the first month of the first year of his reign, he opened the doors of the temple of the Lord and repaired them. TRUTH: Hezekiah didn’t waste any time. He knew what needed to be done to set things right in his kingdom and he began immediately. When we are able to, do we set things in motion to follow God? Do we do it immediately? God is to be our top priority and obeying Him should take priority over all things in our life. RESPONSE: Father, thanks for all You do and have done. I rejoice in You and I will make obeying You my…

VERSE: 2 Chronicles 10:8–But Rehoboam rejected the advice the elders gave him and consulted the young men who had grown up with him and were serving him. TRUTH: The people had come to make Rehoboam him, but they had a couple of questions first. They wanted to know if he would be as harsh as his father. Rehoboam asked for advice on how to answer them, but he didn’t like the first set of advice, so went seeking additional advice. His arrogance and pride and refusal to listen to the advice of the wise men resulted in the people refusing to follow him and rejecting him as king. Who do we…
