Full Faith, Day 7 Dead and alive. Read Colossians 2:9-15. As we see Paul explain in these verses, our faith in Jesus Christ is purposeful. We are dead in our sins. When we think about the very sinful nature of who we are and all we do, we see that death is the very natural consequence of those sins. However, God sent Jesus Christ and because of him, we can be made alive. The only reason that we are alive is because of the grace of God. Are we living and sharing the good news with others? We were dead, but now we are alive.

Full Faith, Day 6 Rooted faith. Read Colossians 2:6-8. As we continue to read about the amazing faith these people had, we see that their faith is based on what they are rooted in. They are rooted in Christ so that they can be built up in and through him. Our faith is going to be seen based on what we have rooted our lives in. We will have faith in what we stand firm upon. That foundation is the basis for everything that we are built upon. What are we rooted in? Are we allowing our roots to grow deep and firm in the message in the knowledge of…

Full Faith, Day 5 Presence. Read Colossians 2:1-5. As Paul continues his discussion with the Colossians, he helps them to see that God’s presence is always with them. So, even though he cannot be with them in the spirit, he is still able to experience the blessing of their faith. When we think about faith, we have to understand that what we have faith in is generally not something we can see the presence of. God in our lives is not tangible but he is still very, very real. When we think about the importance of our faith being paramount in our lives, we must understand that faith is not…

Full Faith, Day 4 Not right with God. Read Colossians 1:21-29. As we read through the remaining verses in chapter one, we recognize that we did not always have faith. We were not born right with God. We were actually born sinful and alienated from God. Everything we did created problems with God and because of that, Jesus Christ came and died so that he could provide a way that we could be reconciled to God. We cannot make ourselves right on our own. We need God’s help. Our faith allows us to come before God and to believe that he bridges the gap that we could not bridge on…

Full Faith, Day 3 His power. Read Colossians 1:16-20. If we think of the most powerful and influential person we possibly can, we really aren’t even close to being able to begin to understand the power that God holds. He is over everything and absolutely everything is under his control. When we think through all that we have and all that we are doing, we must come to the understanding that God, while being merciful and forgiving, truly is awesomely powerful. Are we living out his power and through his power today?

Full Faith, Day 2 Rescue. Read Colossians 1:9-14. As we read about the faith that the people had in the previous verses, we see that faith has resulted in God’s rescue. When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, he is committed to rescuing us from all that we deserve. God does not promise us a life of ease or comfort, but he promises to be with us and to rescue us from judgment. He rescues us from the dominion of darkness and brings us into his life. Will we stay focused on him and accept his rescue today?

Full Faith, Day 1 Living out their faith to the fullest. Read Colossians 1:1-8. When we read this first passage about the Colossians, we see that they were people who had great faith. They had been through difficulties, but they understood that God was more than their trials. God was everything. Their faith matched their understanding. Have others heard of our faith and love? Are we known for how we relentlessly hold to everything that God has done for us?

Psalm and Praise, Day 150 Everything. Read Psalm chapter 150. As we close this lengthy journey through the psalms, I love the simplicity of this final chapter and the final verse. Praise the Lord. Everything should praise the Lord. No matter our circumstances, we are to praise God. Regardless of our situation, we are to praise God. Are we praising God through everything today?

Psalm and Praise, Day 149 Delight. Read Psalm chapter 149. I love the idea that there is something that God takes delight in. It’s such a beautiful picture of God being overjoyed with something, and this verse says that the Lord is overjoyed and takes delight in us. We make his heart happy. From that, he delights in crowning the humble with victory. Sometimes when I go through life I feel like I mess up a lot of things and I make a lot of people frustrated. But this verse says that his people make God happy. I am a child of God, and I make God happy. He delights…

Psalm and Praise, Day 148 Everything praises the Lord. Read Psalm chapter 148. When I say everything, I mean absolutely everything. There is not a part of the world or all creation that doesn’t praise the name of Jesus. This Psalm runs through such a list of all the things that praise God. Some the items may surprise us that they made the list, but still they are praising God. Are we on the list? Do we praise God for all that he is and everything that he has done?
