The Reluctant Follower, Day 13

God sees us. Read Jonah 3:10.
Now, Jonah may not have wanted the people to repent or for God to relent on the judgment and destruction. But, God saw the people, saw their heart, and saw their desire to be made right with him. God forgave them.
When we go through difficult times or are experiencing the consequences of our poor choices and sinful decisions, it can be really difficult to see God. We don’t understand what God is doing, but when we come to God in repentance and seek him, God sees us. It’s not about whether or not we see God. It’s about God seeing us.
We are to come to him in repentance. Even when we don’t feel like it, or even when we don’t see how God could possibly make a way out. Jonah came to God in repentance from unimaginable circumstances inside the belly of a fish. God forgave him and relented and made a way out. The people of Nineveh came to God after being told they are going to be judged for their wrongs with no hope of survival. God saw them, relented and had compassion on them, and made a way out.
Do we trust that God sees us? Even in the midst of our most difficult circumstances and heinous sins, God can make a way out. Do we come to God in full repentance and trust him to make a way out?
