VERSE:
Psalm 137:6–May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy.
TRUTH:
This psalm was written while the Israelites were in captivity in Babylon. When they thought back to Jerusalem, the city where the met God, where they worshiped Him, they longed for that closeness and presence of God like they had in Jerusalem. Do we remember and long for those times in our life when our relationship with God felt close? Are we seeking after that fellowship above all other things?
RESPONSE:
Lord, I long to be close to You and to know You. I will see You above anything else in my life and I pray I will allow nothing to cause me to lose my focus on You.
