ADHD Gospel, Day 53

Misunderstood. Read Mark 14:1-11.

How often do we feel like the things we try to do for Jesus are misunderstood by those around us? We want to show him love and affection and devotion and obedience. And yet the activities that we feel that we are being called to do are sometimes questioned and misunderstood by others. This woman wanted to bring something special and beautiful to honor Jesus in a way that was important to her. Jesus honored and received her gift to him. But the people around did not understand.

Because they didn’t understand, they criticized. Jesus wanted the people to recognize that their criticism was misplaced. They should be focused on just how important it is to honor and follow and love on Jesus without criticizing others. We need to be obedient to what Jesus is calling us to do, and we need to honor him and love him regardless of how other people perceive or interpret what we are doing.

Are we following what God has told us to do and loving and honoring him even when others misunderstand and criticize us?
