TRUTH: As Christ is going through and evaluating the churches, He mentions this condition at the church in Ephesus. Do we get so caught up in the routine of being a Christian that we fail to take the opportunity to just love and praise Jesus Christ? Do we do what we do out of love and devotion, or out of habit? VERSE: Revelation 1:3–Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near. TRUTH: Are we reading God’s Word? Are we doing what it says? God’s Word contains truth and words of life. The only way we can experience the blessings of God is to read and heed those things that are in His Word. RESPONSE: Lord, You are over all. Your Word is over all. I pray You will help me to do all that Your Word says as I study and learn from the Bible.

VERSE: Song of Solomon 8:6–Put me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, jealousy is as severe as Sheol; it’s flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the Lord. TRUTH: Our covenant of marriage is made to each other, but also made to the Lord. He seals it and protects it. He is jealous for it. Do we guard and protect our love as much as we ought to? Our commitment to love our spouse is to be a direct reflection of our love and commitment to Christ. RESPONSE: Lord, than You for being the example…

VERSE: Song of Solomon 7:10–I am my beloved’s, and his desire is for me. TRUTH: Do we fully identify with our spouse to the point where we feel that everything about us we really does belong to each other? Do we long for one another and for time spent with one another? RESPONSE: Lord, I am my beloved’s and his desire is for me. Thank You for our relationship and help us to live together in obedience to you.

VERSE: Song of Solomon 6:1–Where has your beloved gone, O most beautiful among women? Where has your beloved turned, that we may seek him with you? TRUTH: Do our friends encourage us in our Godly relationships? The beloved had friends who encouraged her and praised her and were willing to walk with her. Do we have those type of friends? Are we that type of friend for others? RESPONSE: Lord, I pray You will hep me to cultivate those types of friendships that glorify You. Help me to be a true friend to others.

VERSE: Song of Solomon 5:16–His mount is full of sweetness. And he is wholly desirable. This is my beloved and this is my friend. O daughters of Jerusalem. TRUTH: If our beloved were to describe us, would they say that the words that come out of our mouths are full of sweetness? Do we describe ourselves as friends and not just lovers? RESPONSE: Lord, help me to be more of a friend to my husband and for my words to him and about him to be full of sweetness.

VERSE: Song of Solomon 4:7–You are altogether beautiful, my darling, and there is no blemish in you. TRUTH: The bridegroom loved to praise and compliment his beloved. He loved her and praised her physical beauty. Sometimes, the longer we’ve been together, the less spouses praise and compliment one another. Do we still tell our beloved how he/she looks to us? Do we accept these compliments from our spouse graciously? RESPONSE: Lord, you have indeed given me an amazing man. I pray that You will help me to tell him what he means to me today and help me to accept the compliments that he gives to me.

VERSE: Song of Solomon 3:2–‘I must arise now and go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I must seek him whom my soul loves.’ I sought him but did not find him. TRUTH: The beloved sought after her bridegroom until she eventually found him a couple of verses later. Are we that persistent in our relationship with God? With our spouse? Do we desire to be with them and are we disappointed when they are not around? RESPONSE: Lord, help me to seek after You diligently in all areas. He me seek after my husband in all areas as well so that we may be united…

VERSE: Song of Solomon 2:3–Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. In his shade I took great delight and sat down, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. TRUTH: The beloved loved her husband and complimented him. She shared with him how wonderful and unique he was, and how he protected and provided for her. Do we compliment our spouse or share with them our appreciation of all they do? RESPONSE: Lord, thank You for protecting and providing for me. Thank You also for providing my husband and I pray You will help me to share with him…
