VERSE:Joshua 12:7–Now these are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the sons of Israel defeated beyond the Jordan toward the west…and Joshua gave it to the tribes of Israel as a possession according to their divisions.TRUTH:God had promised them the land, yet they still had to work and be obedient to be able to receive it. Are we willing to obey God and follow through to receive His promises?RESPONSE:Lord, help me obey You and do all that You ask of me to be rewarded with Your promises.

VERSE:Joshua 11:18–Joshua waged war a long time with all these kings.TRUTH:Joshua was being obedient to the command that the Lord had given him. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t quick, but he was faithful and obedient. Does our obedience to God have an expiration date or are we faithful over the long haul?RESPONSE:Lord, help me to be consistently obedient to what You’ve called me to, even when it takes longer than I expect.

VERSE:Joshua 10:25–Joshua then said to them, “Do not fear or be dismayed! Be strong and courageous, for thus the Lord will do to all your enemies.”TRUTH:God used these words to comfort and encourage Joshua, now Joshua is using them to comfort and encourage others. How has the Lord encouraged you? Have you shared that encouragement with others?RESPONSE:Lord, thank You for Your encouragement. Help me see people today to pass Your encouragement along to.

VERSE:Joshua 9:14–So the men of Israel took some of their provisions and did not ask for the counsel of the Lord.TRUTH:It’s so easy to just make decisions quickly so we can move on. However, God has insight that we do not and we need to look to Him for guidance on every decision we make, big or small.RESPONSE:Lord, help me to come to You with everything that I face, and not succumb to the pressure to make a snap decision without Your guidance.

VERSE:Joshua 8:30–The Joshua built an altar to the Lord, the God of Israel, in Mount Ebal.TRUTH:Do we stop and give God the praise for the victories in our life? Joshua was victorious only because they followed God’s commands. After the victory, they stopped and praised God. What do we have that we need to praise God for today?RESPONSE:Lord, help me to take time out to praise You throughout the day for all that You have done and all that You will do.

VERSE:Joshua 7:2–Now Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is near Beth-aven east of Bethel, and said to them, “Go up and spy out the land.” So the men went up and spied out Ai.TRUTH:Joshua just moved on to the next thing, but he did not stop to confer with God. How often do we just go throughout our day doing the things we think we should be doing and only coming to God when things don’t work out?RESPONSE:Lord, help me seek You first throughout my day regardless of what task is coming next.

VERSE:Joshua 6:2–The Lord said to Joshua, “See I have given Jericho into Your hand with its king and the valiant warriors.”TRUTH:Our moves, actions, and plans for the day are to be given to us by God. If we follow God’s plans then we will be successful. God sets the path, we obey, trusting in God to fulfill His plans. RESPONSE:Lord, thank You for having a plan for me today. Help me to follow and obey Your plan for me today.

VERSE:Joshua 5:12–The manna ceased on the day after they had eaten some of the produce of the land, so that the sons of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate some of the yield of the land of Canaan during that year.TRUTH:God provided for their needs, but how He did it changed based on their situation and circumstance. The same is true with us. God will always provide for our needs, but are we open to Him changing how He provides? Are we looking for something new or just stuck expecting the old way.RESPONSE:Lord, thank You for Your provision for me. Help me to always be open to accepting…

VERSE:Joshua 4:24–that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty, so that you may fear the Lord your God forever.TRUTH:Why does God do amazing, wonderful things in our life? To show the world who He is and so He can received the glory He is due. Do we praise Him for everything He has done?RESPONSE:Lord, You are amazing and do incredible works in my life and others lives. May all people praise You for who You are!
