VERSE: 1 Peter 1:18-19–knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. TRUTH: Just like yesterday, we have been redeemed with a precious price, the blood of Jesus. He has paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Have we accepted that gift? RESPONSE: Lord, thank You for your amazing sacrifice and desire for us to be made right with You!

VERSE: Ruth 4:14–Then the women said to Naomi ‘Blessed is the Lord who has not left you without a redeemer today and may his name become famous in Israel.’ TRUTH: Boaz became a redeemer for the family of Ruth and Naomi. Jesus wants to be our redeemer. The Lord has not left us in the difficulties we find ourselves in, He has given us a redeemer, Jesus Christ. RESPONSE: Lord, words cannot describe how thankful I am that You have offered Your Son Jesus to redeem me!

VERSE: Ruth 3:1–Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her ‘My daughter shall I not seek security for you that it may be well with you?’ TRUTH: Ruth was Naomi’s sole source of support, yet Naomi decided to try and better Ruth’s situation. When we are able to help others to better themselves, do we? Even if it costs us something? RESPONSE: Lord, help me to always be looking for ways to help others, regardless of what it costs me.

VERSE: Ruth 2:12–May the Lord reward your work and your wages be full from the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to seek refuge. TRUTH: Where do we go to seek refuge from the problems of life? Ruth left everything she knew during one of the most difficult times on her life and sought refuge from God, and she was blessed for her faith. But, she didn’t just sit around waiting for God’s blessing to come and land in her lap, she went out and did the work that she knew to do. God blessed her willingness and faithfulness. RESPONSE: Lord, take my work and…

VERSE: Ruth 1:16–But Ruth said ‘Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you for where you go I will go and where you lodge I will lodge, your people shall be my people and your God my God. TRUTH: Ruth made a decision to follow Naomi and nothing was going to deter her from that. When we make a decision to follow Christ are we equally focused? Do we stand up to anything that might distract us from following Christ with our whole life? RESPONSE: Lord, take away anything that tries to distract me from following You.

VERSE: 1 Corinthians 16:14–Let all that you do be done in love. TRUTH: Love is to be the motivation for everything that we do throughout the day. Not only that, it should be the means by which we do things. Are we acting because we love? Are we demonstrating that love in everything we do so that others can see it? RESPONSE: Lord, I pray You will give me what I need to be able to choose to love as You love today.

VERSE: 1 Corinthians 14:40–but all things must be done properly and in an orderly manner TRUTH: Paul has been instructing in the way Christians should conduct themselves when they gather for worship. This is his summary advice, be proper and orderly. Why? So that non-Christians can look, understand, and be drawn to God. Do our worship services draw people to God? RESPONSE: Lord, help me be glorifying to You when I worship and that my worship of You would lead others to You!

VERSE: 1 Corinthians 13:7–love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. TRUTH: An interesting set of attributes when we realize that bearing and enduring refer to going through struggles and hardship, while believing and hoping refer to seeing the positive. Love bears and endures through the difficulties and wrongs suffered while believing and hoping give us the faith to continue to love those we are having to endure. Do we love people? Really love people as Christ loves us? RESPONSE: Lord, help me to love as You love, hoping and enduring, believing and bearing burdens.
