Take Action, Day 13

Support. Read Acts chapter 13.

Merry Christmas!! In our reading today, it’s time to extend the reach of the early church. As the leaders are praying, they receive the word from God that it’s time to send out Paul and Barnabas, so they lay their hands-on them and send them out. There was no special power or ability that was given by laying their hands-on them. But, it was a tremendous show of support.

If we’re going to take action to be obedient to God, yes, we can do it by ourselves. And even if we are the only ones being obedient, we are still called to do that. However, it’s much, much easier to follow through and be obedient when we have the support of others around us. Even the encouragement of 1 or 2 people can make a tremendous difference in our follow through and follow-up.

When we look at all that God has called us to do, are we being obedient to what God has laid in front of us? And are we being supportive of others and what God has called them to do? If there is a way in which we can show that support to others, we are called to do that. How can we show support to others today?
