Praising the Word, Day 2

Hiding the treasure. Read Psalm 119:9-16.
Today, we look at the section of Psalm 119 that starts with the Hebrew letter “Beth.” When we think about a treasure, often, my mind goes to pirates and stories of hidden, buried treasure. They would bury it and hide it to keep it safe so that no one could take it from them.
When we think of God’s word, it is truly a treasure. God has provided his word and we are to treat it as a true treasure. How can we hide a treasure so that no one can take it away from us? We memorize it and write it on our hearts. This way, even at times and in areas and places where we don’t have access to a Bible, God’s word is still able to influence and impact our lives.
Sometimes we don’t have a Bible because we’re in the middle of something or walking through something. But, there are places in the world where it is illegal to have a copy of the holy Bible and people are punished if they do. If we’ve taken the time to demonstrate our love of God and our love for his word by memorizing it and hiding in her heart, then no matter what is going on around us, we will have access to the incredible word of God and all its power.
Are we actively hiding God’s word in our heart today? Today’s focus verse would be a great verse to start with.
