Beginning Again, Day 1

Starting over. Read Joshua 1:1-9.

Today, we start a journey through the book of Joshua. Joshua is an incredible book of new beginnings. The people of Israel have been through so much, and most of that has been under the leadership and direction of Moses. But now, Moses is gone. They’re at the edge of the promised land awaiting all that God has promised them. They have a new leader and they need to figure out how to start this new journey.

This book is an incredible look into how to start over. So many times in our lives, we experience things that we didn’t do right. We find ourselves in a position where we need to start over. The very first key God reminds Joshua is that starting over begins with God’s word. We cannot truly be starting over if we are not locked into the word of God. God’s word has to be everything to us. It must guide our every thought and our every action. God reminds Joshua of this. And as we look to start over and start new, we have to be reminded that God’s word must also be at the forefront of everything in our lives.

What are you looking to start over? What are you needing to do again and make new? Keep God’s word at the very front of everything you do. That’s how to successfully start over.
