Why I Believe in Christ, Day 16

Be wise and innocent. Read Romans chapter 16.

As we come to the end of the book of Romans, Paul begins a long list of all the people that he is thankful for. This book has provided so much background into Paul’s beliefs, theology, and why he is so passionate about following Jesus Christ. But Paul understands he can’t do this alone. Paul’s relationship with Christ has led to him building many other tremendous relationships as well.

Paul is excited about all that he is doing and all that God is allowing him what to do, and he knows that the Roman people will have such a great opportunity to share as well. Paul believes in Christ because he has experienced Christ and all that Christ has done for him. His final advice to the people in Rome is to be wise about what’s good and to be innocent of the evil things in the world. Paul wants the people to know they can be excellent in everything good, but that when it comes to the evil in the world, they must be innocent of it.

This applies to us as well. As we come to the point where we look at our relationships and we think about all the people who have impacted us on our walk with Christ, we can be reminded that we too are to be wise in the things that are good and we are to be innocent of the evil that is pervasive in our world.
