Christian Devotional – June 16, 2016

Read Micah chapter 1

VERSE:

Micah 1:3–“Look! The Lord is coming from his dwelling place; he comes down and treads on the heights of the earth.”

TRUTH:

Micah is beginning his prophecy by explaining that the Lord is the One who is coming. Micah wants them to know that he doesn’t have any right or room to judge the people, but the One who does have that right is coming. When God comes, He must first come in judgment as He has seen the horrible sin that we have done and for those who have not repented and begged His mercy and salvation through Jesus Christ, that time will be very dark indeed. For others, those of us who have received the forgiveness offered through the blood of Jesus Christ, we will see God’s coming as a cause for celebration and a reuniting of us with our blessed Creator. Make no mistake, the Lord is coming. The question is, how will we view His coming and are we ready for it?

RESPONSE:

Father, I praise You for being over everything. I know that You are coming and because I have accepted the mercy and forgiveness that You have offered and have received the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, I am excited to see You return. I know that You are powerful and mighty and I will continue to praise You in all things today.
