The Messenger, Day 7

Frolic. Read Malachi chapter 4.
Frolic is defined as Frolic refers to playing or moving about in a lively, cheerful, and carefree manner, often involving romping, running, or skipping. What a beautiful picture! I tend to think of children or animals being involved in frolicking. I think that is because neither of them are generally weighed down by the burdens, pressures, and problems that so often plague life. It seems the older we get, the less we frolic.
That’s not what the messenger in Malachi sees. He reminds us that as we are listening and following the message of God, we will be righteous and we will go and frolic.
Frolic is both an action and an attitude. We frolic because we don’t have any worries or cares. When we don’t have any worries or cares, then we will behave in a manner that is free, light, unencumbered. We aren’t worried about what others think. We don’t care about the concerns and anxiety of the day. We aren’t weighed down by the difficulties and problems we face. We are physically and emotionally free. We frolic.
When was the last time you frolicked? How long has it been since you gave all the burdens and cares of the world to the Lord amd just rested and trust in Him? This whole book has been written to people who are burdened and bothered by the “stuff” in the world like power and money and position. If we are focused on those things, then we aren’t focused on God and we won’t be able to frolic. Give the burdens and stress to the Lord. Just focus on enjoying today, in Him!
