Change of Plans, Day 1

Does God have permission to change your plans? Read Hosea chapter 1.
We often have so many plans for our lives. We have ideals and goals and objectives. In many cultures, we grow up being told that we can go or do anything and we just need to work hard at it in order to achieve it. However, how often do we seek God’s plans for our lives?
Hosea probably had some plans for his life. But, God had a different plan. God gave him instructions that didn’t really make sense and that we would find completely crazy in today’s day and time. God told Hosea to go find a woman that couldn’t be trusted and that would cheat on him and go and marry her. They even had 3 children together. These children were given names that were chosen by God, but probably didn’t make them very popular at school. These were not Hosea’s plans. Yet, when God came to him and gave him a new plan, Hosea obeyed.
There have been many times in my life when I thought I had a great plan. I felt good about what I was doing and where I was going. However, God then made a change. We may not understand the change. Or, we may completely understand the change, but still not like it. Or, perhaps we are completely on board with the change. The bottom line is that we are to be obedient to God in whatever change He makes in our lives. Are we willing to allow God to change our plans? God knows what is best for us and for His glory. We need to be obedient when God says it’s time to change.
