Christian Devotional – May 3, 2015

We’ve finished the 4th book in Psalm, so we’ll take another quick break before heading back to finish Psalm.

Read 2 Timothy chapter 1

VERSE:

2 Timothy 1:5–I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.

TRUTH:

What is your family legacy? Paul is reminding Timothy here that his legacy was one of belief in Christ. For those of us who have been blessed to have a legacy of family who have been believers and followers in Christ, that’s a huge blessing. However, regardless of whether we experienced that blessing or not, we each have the decision to make that will determine how we choose to pass that legacy forward. Will we choose to leave a legacy of sincere faith? How will those who come after us remember the legacy that we chose to leave?

RESPONSE:

Father, I pray that You will keep me focused on You in every area of my life. I desire to leave a legacy that points people to faith in Jesus Christ. I pray that You will be glorified in everything that I do, even years from now. Thank You for the opportunity to point people to You.
