Read Daniel chapter 4

VERSE:

Daniel 4:37–Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.

TRUTH:

King Nebuchadnezzar had several opportunities to learn to praise God in all things, but he continued to be prideful and think that he had been the person who had done and created everything in his kingdom. He received a warning in a dream that if he continued in his prideful way that God would humble him, but he didn’t listen and so he lost his mind, literally. When he was willing to acknowledge God as the Holy One and to worship and exalt him, everything was restored to him. Even after all of that, he is able to say that God’s actions were right and just. He had to learn the hard way that God is God and that He is more powerful and mighty than anyone else. Will we learn and acknowledge all that God is and has done for us on our own, or will we walk in pride until God humbles us?

RESPONSE:

Father, I know that You are God and that You are over all. Forgive me when I take credit for anything that You have done. I know that You are able to speak to all things and care for all things. Thank You for Your glory and Your patience with me as I seek to put You first in everything in my life. I will give You all the credit and praise for everything You do; show me how to praise You in every situation.
