Christian Devotional – November 12, 2014

Read Matthew chapter 8

VERSE:

Matthew 8:10–When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.”

TRUTH:

This soldier had come to Jesus with a request, and he was completely ready and willing to believe what Jesus said. He didn’t need to see if with his own eyes. He didn’t need to watch it happen. He had faith that if Jesus said it would be done, it would be done. We have the opportunity to come to Jesus all the time and to bring our requests to Him. Do we have the same level of faith that we know Jesus will handle it and we don’t need to see the specific answer to prayer. Do we trust in Jesus to do what He says He’s going to do? Our faith should be the same as this soldier.

RESPONSE:

Father, I still struggle with my faith sometimes. I know that You desire me to bring my burdens to You and to life them up to You, but You also expect me to trust You to carry them from that point on. I will let go of my fears and anxiety and have faith that You will do what You’ve said You will do.
