Christian Devotional – October 8, 2015

Read James chapter 1

VERSE:

James 1:27–Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

TRUTH:

Much is made about religion these days. One religion claims this and another claims that. This is what God’s Word indicates tat a religion should be: look after others and keep from being polluted by the world. Are we focusing our efforts on other people? Do we seek to be in the world, but not of it? These are the questions that we must ask as we get to know Jesus more and more each day. Our relationship with Him grows and we get to see more and more of Him each day. As we do, we understand what it means to care for one another and to stay focused on Him. Are we focused on Him today?

RESPONSE:

Father, I praise You and I thank You for all that You are doing. I know that You are our Father and I desire that my relationship with You grows every day. I will also focus on allowing You to work Your pure religion through me so that I may care for others as You would care for others.
