No Distractions, Day 3

Tell the story. Read Galatians 1:11-24.

In the remainder of this first chapter of Galatians, Paul shares his story. Paul is steadfastly focused on Christ, and he wants to make sure that the Galatians truly understand why. In Paul’s story, he explains that he was completely and totally focused on persecuting the church up until the point where God got his attention.

God had to use such a dramatic means to get his attention so that Paul would understand just how focused he now needed to be on sharing the message of Jesus Christ. We can get lost sometimes in understanding our purpose and our goal. When that happens, it’s good to go back to why we made the decision to follow Christ in the first place. What was the beginning of our story with Christ? Throughout scripture, Paul shares his story so often because it was such a grounding moment for him. How often do you share your story of when you came to Christ? As you share it, it keeps you focused and grounded on Christ.

What is our origin story? How did we feel when we very first began to share the message of Christ? What was life like when we first believed. If we find ourselves losing focus, we need to make sure that we take a moment and revisit the beginning. Why did we make the decision that we made for Christ and what was the excitement level in that moment? Remembering that can help us find our focus and avoid distractions going forward.
