No Distractions, Day 2

Know the goal. Read Galatians 1:10.

What is the best way to avoid distractions? Be crystal clear on what your goal is. Paul wants the people to understand that he has his goal. He clearly knows exactly what he is doing. He is clear about what he is focusing on, and that is seeking God’s approval and pleasing Him.

Do we know what our goal is? Have we lined out exactly what it is that we are seeking to accomplish? Have we made it our decision that we are going to serve and follow God above anything else, or are we still wavering back-and-forth on that commitment? Until we make the decision that God is going to be everything to us, we’ll be at risk for distractions. There will always be a temptation for distractions, but when we have clarified our goal and are focused on what we are seeking to accomplish, it is easier to allow the distractions to fade away and pass by us.

When we are not as clear on our goal, distractions become a larger part of our focus and it becomes easier to fall prey to them. It should be our goal to please God in every area of our life. Have we committed to that with unwavering dedication. Before we go any further in our study of Galatians, we have to make sure that commitment to seeking God is solid and that we are focusing wholeheartedly on that goal. Does that describe you today? If not, repent and recommit today.
