Read Haggai chapter 2 VERSE: Haggai 2:8–The silver is mine and the gold is mine; declares the Lord Almighty. TRUTH: We think we own such amazing stuff. We have this sense of ownership that is all wrong according to the Bible. The things that we think we own, we actually don’t own. Read Haggai chapter 1 VERSE: Haggai 1:6–You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it. TRUTH: The people had a problem. They had not been obedient to the Lord, so as a result, everything they did was affected. It didn’t matter how good they were at doing what they were doing, it didn’t measure up and always seemed to fall short.
